Hi! My name is Gina Kayembe and welcome to my blog!  Here are some interesting facts about me:

• I live in Waukee, Iowa
• I married my best friend, Kaba, on October 12, 2013
• I became a mom to an amazing little guy on July 27, 2015
• My other son is Louie…the cutest dog in the world
• I graduated from St. Ambrose University in 2006 with my education degree and received my Masters in Education at Western Illinois University in 2011
• I am a teacher
  • More specifically I am an elementary reading specialist
• I used to teach elementary reading classes at St. Ambrose University and hope to teach at the college level again someday
• I have a passion for photography and writing
• We love to travel
  • Paris, New York City, and Boston are my favorite places so far
• Staying active is important to me
  • I love playing all sports ~ especially soccer
  • I’ve run two half marathons with another planned this year
