You know when you’re feeling tired, stressed, and overwhelmed? I’ve learned that getting away from everyday life (even for a couple hours) and turning to friends is the best cure for these feelings. The other day I was feeling this way and it was definitely bringing me down. I received some very kind words from a great friend and went out for some girl’s time with some new friends (margaritas and tacos included). That night I went to bed with a full heart and a smile on my face.
Recently I’ve talked about how I’m needing some friendships to help support me and get me through this thing called life. I’m very grateful that I have gotten out of my comfort zone and have made some new amazing friends. It helps to talk about feelings, laugh a lot, and have an occasional margarita!
Second thought for today…..my baby is growing WAY TOO FAST!! He’s a crawling machine! I had a third grade student tell me a while ago, “you don’t want him to crawl because he’ll get into everything!” Boy was that little girl right!! He loves to crawl AWAY from HIS toys and get into mommy’s things! His current favorites are cords, vents in the floor, and the photo albums under the coffee table. Looks like we’ll be moving some furniture around and doing some baby proofing this weekend! He thinks he’s the coolest guy ever with his new skills. He will crawl a little bit, sit down and laugh at himself, and then crawl some more. And there’s no doubt that he knows what the word “no” means. When he’s getting into something he’s not supposed to, he looks at me to see if I’m paying attention and then gives a little smirk. Little stinker knows what he’s doing! He sure is a cool little dude and I’m blessed to call him mine!
