Inspiration

“At the end of the day, faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don’t really expect it. It’s like one day you realize the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed of. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it’s not so important that it’s happy ever after just that it’s happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon people will surprise you. And once in a while people may even take your breath away.”

This quote from Grey’s Anatomy (one of my fav shows) really resonates with me. There is so much to be said and interpreted from these seven sentences.

Faith definitely is a funny thing. There have been times in my life when I feel like nothing is going right and faith is hard to come by. I focus so much on what’s going wrong and forget to be grateful for what is right. Focusing on the good things will bring more joy and the faith will start coming back. I’m at a turning point in my life where I’m ready for a change in profession. I want to feel excitement, joy, fulfillment from what I do. I want to live for my job. I want to make a difference in the world. I want to find my purpose and I want my children to see me work hard for that purpose. Whether it’s writing, photography, or a venture with a friend, I’m ready to take a leap and find my passion and my fairy tale job. I don’t need to be rich, I don’t need to be famous, I just need to be happy. I have faith that this will happen. I need to keep believing and fighting for what I want.

The last two sentences are my favorite. I truly believe that each person is placed in your life for a reason. If it’s a bad experience, they were meant to help you learn and grow. The best type of person is the one who surprises you with how wonderful they are. The one who you weren’t expecting to mean so much. The one who is there for everything and through everything. I’ve been very blessed with a few women in my life the last year. They are remarkable moms, amazing women, and even better friends. There is one woman in particular who “takes my breath away” with her kind words and constant support. I have learned how important it is to have at least one of these people in your life. Someone you can connect with, vent to, seek advice from, and have a laugh with. When it’s a time of struggle, these are the people who will always show up and surprise you with a smile. To those friends and special person, thank you, keep surprising me, and take my breath away!

To anyone out there whose faith is dwindling, who is worried about the future, who is having trouble smiling…read the quote above and let it inspire you. Keep the faith, be happy with what you have right now, and reach out to a person or two for some love. Know that your fairy tale is created by you. You make the choices for your life. You can choose to sit back and sulk or you can choose to work hard and keep fighting for your happy ever after.
